Over the past 20 years, I’ve helped organisations across both the public and private sectors grow and thrive. I’ve managed multimillion-pound budgets, scaled companies from six to multi-seven figures, opened new locations, built teams from 30 to over 120 people, and created award-winning learning and development programmes along the way.

What makes my approach different is that I don’t just talk about business growth. I’ve lived it. I understand the challenges that come with scaling, the sleepless nights, and the pressure to get things right when people are relying on you.
​
I’ve seen both sides of the spectrum, from businesses so focused on profit their culture becomes toxic, to those where leaders who let staff do what they want and avoiding setting boundaries and expectations. Neither approach works for long.
​
That’s why I founded The HR Hero, to help business owners and managers strike the right balance. I combine my hands-on experience with my CIPD Level 7 HR qualification and a Master’s in Management to give practical, grounded support that works in the real world.
​
My passion is helping businesses with 1 to 100 staff (and HR managers in standalone roles) create the structure, standards, and confidence they need to grow, without the people problems getting in the way.

The HR Hero wins Innovative Business of the Year Award
We recently won the 'Innovative Business of the Year Award 2023' at the Real World Consultancy annual business festival awards, after being shortlisted for all three award categories.

With strict criteria, three judges decided the four finalists for each award. The judges were particularly impressed with the HR Hero's innovative online offering to support SME's across the UK.
Here's what the judges said, "Kate from The HR Hero has developed her own method and innovative online offering to support the employment lifecycle. She has created a low-cost, affordable solution to disrupt the way HR services are delivered to SMEs across the UK. SMEs now have 24/7 access to an ‘HR manager in their pocket’ via an APP.”

The Wellbeing and Community Champions
At The HR Hero, we believe in promoting happiness and positivity, and our very own wellbeing champion, Barney the Cockapoo, helps us achieve just that!
Our commitment to wellbeing extends beyond the workplace, as we actively participate in various community groups. Kate and her family have been dedicated supporters of Droitwich Football Club for over a decade, and this season, The HR Hero continues to be a proud to sponsor Droitwich SPA Youth FC U16.
In 2024, Danielle and her friend Siobhan co-founded "Gather and Grow," a local women's walking group that has attracted nearly 2,000 followers and garnered attention from local and national radio.
We're excited to continue our involvement in these community initiatives and look forward to making a positive impact in the lives of those around us.
